dL Mental Plane
it's always darkest just before the dawn.....
here we are, in the darkest time of the year, just before the winter solstice. a time when we are forced to look within. a time when the darkness of the day and chill of the night draws us in to the warmth of our homes and seeking the warmth of our close friends and family. no wonder we celebrate so much this time of year. no wonder we eat so much. no wonder this time of year can be so challenging.
no wonder........we are faced with darkness. we are faced with it in our world. we are faced with it in ourselves.
as we tiptoe across the threshold of light, we are reminded that in order to truly appreciate the light, we must be submersed in darkness. it comes in all forms, internal and external. and for some, the darkness of the past few months surpassed that which we felt we could bear. but we made it. and from the depths of our greatest challenge rose the possibility of the life that we truly desire. contrast is a great teacher.
the most important thing to remember within this change we are all experiencing is to be flexible. when the winds of change blow hard against you, allow yourself to bend. allow the winds to blow in possibility. trust as you let the wind take you for a ride. know that you'll land somewhere soft and that the arms of the earth will catch you. as we step in to this new year, allow yourself to expand. allow your light to shine bright. allow yourself to be free.
